Job OverviewA Genna Benna's Front of the House manager ensures the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining their reputation and character.
They must coordinate a variety of activities, whatever the size or type of the outlet.
Managers are responsible for the business performance of Genna Benna's, as well as maintaining high standards of food, service, health and safety.
They are expected to work as a management team with the Kitchen Manager, General Manager and District Manager to assure the best possible overall guest experience with particular emphasis on building a highly professional, efficient and motivated front of the house staff.
The bartenders, servers, hostesses and server assistants report to this position.
Front of House Managers report to the General ManagerStaffing and Traininginterview and hire prospective new employees in accordance with Genna Benna's hiring policy and proceduresTake charge of training new FOH employees and maintain/update/expand the training manualReview employee performance at least 3 months after hire and annually thereafterRecommend disciplinary action, including write-ups, and recommend termination where necessaryPrepare FOH (bartender, server, hostess and server assistant) weekly schedules in compliance with the budgeted hourly limits given by the General Manager and/or District Manager,Recommend policy changes and effectively communicate all FOH policy and operating matters to staff.
Assure compliance with labor laws and company policy.
Shift ResponsibilitiesThe FOH manager is expected to be present and active on the floor during business hours.
Maintain high guest relations and deal with any guest complaints as they ariseVisit every guests table at some point during the dining experienceEnsure that all employees adhere to Genna Benna's uniform standardConfirm that the restaurant is ready for revenue before each shiftVerify that all opening and closing duties are performed before and after each shiftAssign server sections, hold pre-shift meetings and assure that specials for the weekend are understood and wild cards are printedBe prepared to back up all positions (server, bartender, hostess and server assistant) during every shiftMaintain open communication with all BOH and FOH staffAnalyze labor needs as shift progresses and make adjustments accordinglyHousekeepingMaintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, health and safetyCheck stock levels of important items before each shift.
Let the General Manager know when supplies need to be orderedPrepare cash drawers and providing petty cash and change as requiredHelp in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictateJob QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent is requiredCourse work in Restaurant Management or a Bachelor's Degree is preferredMust be at least 21 years of age
Experience:
2 plus years prior restaurant experience is requiredMust have a Valid Driver's LicenseKnowledge of Labor Laws, Health Codes, Safe Food Handling and Sanitation, Safety and Security systems and proceduresMust be able to communicate clearly and understand the English languageOutgoing personality, positive attitude and strong oral communication skills.

Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service procedures and function.
Proficient in computer operations including point of sale, word, excel & outlookGood people management skills, communication and listening skills.
