SUMMARY
The role of the Manufacturing Technician is to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency is achieved and sustained on our high speed packaging lines across multiple shifts. Work closely with other Manufacturing Technicians, Production Planner and Team Resource Manager (TRM) to organize and lead all production and maintenance on a high speed press or packaging line to maximize throughput and continuously improve KPI's. A manufacturing Technician is considered the owner of the line equipment and as such will be responsible to coach and advise production operators on adjacent shift(s). As many of the lines are one-person only, a Manufacturing Technician will be solely responsible for the line operation, daily target delivery and maintenance during his/her shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Health & Safety: Ensure a pro-active, preventative approach is taken on Safety, Health and the Environment.
Quality: Ensure control plan adherence as a minimum.
Customer Service: Deliver weekly production plan.
Plant: Autonomously run relevant pressing or packaging equipment. Ensure appropriate minor maintenance is carried out where necessary on line, with focus on preventative rather than reactive, and help develop team autonomous maintenance skills across shifts. Complete basic monthly Preventative Maintenance plans on press or packaging line.
Materials: Ensure waste levels are minimized to achieve line targets.
Electronic Activities: Ensure that shift quality and line performance data is entered in a timely and accurate manner by themselves and by their team.
Training: Participate in ensuring all team members have the necessary skills to operate their area to the required standards of quality, productivity and CI.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
