Southeast Behavioral Health Services, Inc./COPAC, a chemical dependency treatment facility located in Brandon is seeking a Counselor for its out-patient program.
Position evaluates and counsels patients with substance abuse; documents all services rendered; provides individual, family, group, and crisis counseling and/or educational services to patients and their families; conducts screening evaluations of new cases to determine treatment level and intervention needs; maintains a thorough knowledge of the therapeutic techniques and program policies and procedures; maintains professional relations with and provides assistance to human services agencies, support groups, and other staff. Counselor serves as a coordinator to facilitate and ensure communication, linkage, and continuing of care between patients and physicians, other organizational components, community resources, and service providers.
Applicants must have 12 Step Program and substance abuse counseling experience with individuals 18 years and older; Bachelors in Counseling from an accredited educational institution and two years full-time paraprofessional work experience in Addiction Counseling; or Bachelors in Counseling from an accredited institution and Certification from NAADAC or MAAP; or Masters in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
Clean and valid Mississippi driver's license and current auto insurance
Ability to express information/observations both verbally and written in an accurate, professional manner
Position requires very good computer skills, Word, e-mail, Internet, and ability to document case notes, on a daily basis, through electronic medical records programs.
Flexibility and dependability a must!Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
